Introduction	Use this guide to remove the evaporator cover on your LG Refrigerator. ***This guide will work for most LG refrigerators.*** This guide is written with an LG model LFX25973 refrigerator. If you have a different model, you may encounter some minor disassembly differences, but the overall repair process will be the same. The evaporator cover protects the evaporator coils from physical damage and also provides a channel for air to be drawn across the evaporator coils by the evaporator fan and directed by the outlets on the cover. The cover itself almost never fails, but it is frequently removed to gain access to parts of the cooling system or to defrost the evaporator coils manually. Some of the items you can check when this cover is removed include the evaporator fan, the defrost heater, the freezer thermistor, and the defrost thermostat and thermistor.
