Front Camera Assembly
Introduction
Use this guide to replace the front camera and sensor assembly in your iPhone 15.
If your front camera's image looks fuzzy or has stopped working entirely along with your Face ID or proximity sensor, you might need to replace the front camera and sensors assembly.
This assembly includes the front-facing camera and Face ID hardware. These parts come as one unit, and the sensors are [link|https://www.ifixit.com/News/82867/iphone-15-teardown-reveals-software-lockdown|uniquely paired to your logic board|new_window=true]. Replacing them means you'll lose Face ID functionality and, as of iOS 17.0, may still experience issues using your front camera.
You'll need replacement back glass adhesive to complete this repair.
If your battery is swollen, [[What to do with a swollen battery|take appropriate precautions|new_window=true]] and consider [guide|165733|replacing your battery|new_window=true].
***Due to [link|https://www.ifixit.com/News/82867/iphone-15-teardown-reveals-software-lockdown|Apple's parts pairing restrictions|new_window=true], you must also [guide|165728|replace the logic board|new_window=true] with a new one that's paired to your replacement part to maintain most of your iPhone's front sensor functionality.*** This part is uniquely paired to the logic board at the factory—and without Apple's proprietary calibration process, even a genuine part won't work.
