Use this guide to help you replace the thermal cutoff switch on your Whirlpool Duet WED87HED Dryer.
The thermal cutoff switch is one of the last lines of defense to keep your machine from overheating. When it blowstriggers, it acts to disconnectdisconnects the heating element, but the dryer will still turn on.
If it blows the dryer will not heat, except in some unusual circumstances.
If it's broken or malfunctioning, the dryer may overheat.
