Introduction |
This fast fix is made for those wanting to learn how to fix a metal fence by welding it together. This fix is really helpful and needed since due to metal rusting or a force (someone breaking it) done on the metal bar can cause it to detach and you won't need to hire someone to fix it every-time. The recommended age for this project would be for those of age 18+ that have preferably used a grinder or worked on something having to do with maintenance in the past, but you don't have to have that experience as long as you are handy and feel like you can do it. I must let you know that their are dangers in this fast fix and the best way to complete it is in a open area with nothing flammable around and the proper protection which would be a welding helmet, welding gloves, and safety glasses. Not only must you work on it in a open and clean space, you must also do it while the sun is out so you can see through the welding helmet since you won't be able to see through it at night. The grinder disc size that I used in this fast fix was a size 4 1/2 inch. You can use pretty much any size because you are just using it to scrape off residue and paint when it does its rotating motion. In this fast fix you will begin by first removing residue and paint from the bar and the fence, then getting ready to weld so setting it up and then actually doing the welding. After the welding you will have to clean up what you did and finally finish it up by painting it but you will learn it with more detail throughout my guide. |
