Introduction
If you loose BIOS settings on startup or your CMOS battery reaching the end of it's lifetime, then the battery must be replaced. This is a guide to replacing the CMOS battery of your computer. PleaseIn order to go about with replacing it, the back cover of the laptop must be removed to expose both the cable which secures the battery and the battery itself. Before replacing the component, please remember to power down your computer and unplug it to avoid any power surges or shorts. Failing to power down and disconnect the battery may result in further harm to the laptop or even yourself, so precautions must be taken. Warning: This is a dangerous procedure. When the CMOS battery is unplugged, BIOS settings will be reset to factory defaults.
