Introduction
If you are in the middle of a gaming session and your DualShock 3 controller's Start, Select, or PlayStation buttons are not working, use this guide to replace the rubber piece that includes these three buttons. When this rubber piece is faulty, the controllers circuit board will not be able to read the button's input.
Before using this guide, test if by pressing the button harder it responds. Typically, there will be no input received if the button is pressed slightly or from the sides.
In Step 3 the #2 trigger buttons might be popped off accidentally while removing the rear cover. If this happens [link|https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/DualShock+3+Trigger+Buttons+Replacement/3253|this guide|new_window=true] will help you.
