Introduction	Individual black or white keys on Alesis Q-series MIDI controller keyboards (Q25, Q49, Q61, QX25, QX49, QX61, etc.) sometimes quit functioning – you press it, and no MIDI signal so no sound. I have repaired mine several times. The following tools are needed: • P1 screwdriver with a long thin shaft • Nose pliers • Masking tape • Table which is twice as wide as the Q49 (or work on the floor) • Long USB cable so you can keep it connected to computer or sound module. • Recommended: Conductive silver paint.
