Introduction
After a spillage on your keyboard, some keys may become unreliable. Replacement of the keyboard is generally the best solution. This isn’t hard and a replacement is often not expensive. Double check that the one you are purchasing is for your model of laptop or definitely compatible, and that it’s the right language.
But sometimes you might not be able to get one at a reasonable cost, or if just a very few keys are affective you might want to try cleaning them. This is far from guaranteed to work, but may be worth trying.
The principles described here are applicable to other makes and models of laptop having similar low profile keys but details may vary, such as whether you should first disengage the top or the bottom of a key cap or the butterfly mechanism. First, try removing a key cap from a key you will hardly ever use and examine it closely to establish any differences from the ones described here.
