Thermal paste is a sliversilver liquid you apply to a processor to transfer heat to a cooling solution. You want to replace the thermal paste of any electronic every couple of years or so since the thermal paste will dry out. The thermal paste board is right under the heat sync, and the heat sync is where all the dust builds up.
