Introduction
Follow this guide to remove and replace the fingerprint sensor on the Moto X4.
Before you begin, download the [link|https://www.motorola.com/us/rescue-and-smart-assistant/p|Rescue and Smart Assistant|new_window=true] app to backup your device and diagnose whether your problem is software or hardware related.
The guide instructs you to fully detach the screen before removing the fingerprint sensor. You can choose to keep the screen attached while removing the fingerprint sensor, but you risk straining and damaging the display cable in the process.
