The soft brushroll is the most likely brushroll component to need replacement as it is made of a very soft material that wears easily, even when proper care precautions are followed. The soft brushroll is made to be easily replaced by the end user.
The stiff brushroll is much sturdier and is made in a way that should not require replacement if properly cared for. However, the stiff brushroll is also much more difficult to replace by the end user. For this reason, this guide does not include instructions on replacement of the stiff brushroll.
