In this guide the reader will learn how to properly replace the fender on a western saddle. The repair will require a new saddle fender. It is easiest to perform this replacement while using a saddle stand, but it is not required.

Unbuckle the fender.

Pull on the fender leather to remove the fender from the saddle.

Remove the hobble and blevins from the new stirrup.

Run the new stirrup leather over the bar.

Bring the fender leather out on the underside of the saddle.

Push the leather back under the bar over the rigging.

Put stirrup, blevins, and hobble back on the new stirrup.

Slide the blevins over the stirrup holes.

After the fender is fixed the saddle should be ready to ride.
