The mini USB port is needed to access to the data or store new data on the hard drive. In order to attach the mini USB, you will need to know how to solder. When soldering, you run the risk of damaging the board (and yourself).

Start by turning the device port side up.

With the plastic opening tool, pry along the edges of the case.

When you hear the case snap-out of its fitted grooves, slowly slide the board assembly out of the case.

Gently pull the three pronged, clear plastic piece from the rubber holder.

Unscrew the two screws from the motherboard.

Remove all the rubber pieces from the four corners to unhinge the motherboard.

Grab the mini USB port and align it with the appropriate metal docks on the motherboard.

Start heating up the Soldering Iron, may take about 10–15 mins.

Solder together the four corners of the mini USB to the appropriate metal pieces on the motherboard.
