About a year ago (almost to the day!!!), I did several loads of laundry in my washing machine, but I couldn't get the clothes out because the door wouldn't open. Upon inspection, I discovered that the door latch had burned out. I don't know what the part that connects to the latch is called (a connector block?), but it was very scorched and slightly melted, although the 3 metal contacts were still intact. Part of the latch itself was also damaged, so I bought a new latch and installed it into the scorched connector, and it has been fine since. But this evening during a wash cycle, my machine started signaling a door error—indicating that it wasn't closed. When I pressed on the door, I heard a clicking sound and a lock icon appeared on the display, but when I tried to restart the wash, it showed the same error. I don't know what to do. Should I buy a new latch, or is the problem with the connector—if so, can these be replaced, or does this mean I need a new machine? :(
