This guide will show you how to remove the current Hard Drive and how to replace it. Accessing the Hard Drive in this computer is straightforward and only requires minimal dis-assembly with a screwdriver. Make sure your new hard disk is compatible with your device before attempting to install it because it may not fit, may have different wiring, etc.

Turn the laptop over and locate the lock and battery release switches. Unlock the battery by changing the switch on the right from locked to unlocked by sliding the switch outward.

Hold the release switch and pull out the battery towards you.

Turn the laptop so the battery-side of the laptop is farthest from you. Locate the captive screw pictured here and loosen the screw using the #1 Phillips screwdriver.

Make sure your new hard disk is compatible with your device before attempting to install it because it may not fit, may have different wiring, etc.

Once the screw is completely removed, pull back the plastic cover carefully.

Remove the hard disk by gently applying pressure with your thumb while sliding the hard disk to the left.
