This guide gives instructions on how to remove the Left-Side Motherboard (Green) of the Toshiba SD-K740 DVD player, which controls the display and disc drive function.

Remove the three 7.7 mm screws from the back panel using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Turn the DVD player on its side.

Remove the 7.7 mm screw.

Flip the DVD player onto its other side.

Remove the 7.7 mm screw.

Flip the DVD player over onto its front face.
-
Remove the back panel by lifting up and pulling it towards yourself.

Lift and push away the two tabs located in the middle of the player.

Lift and slide forward the single tab on the side.

Grasp the front panel and pull forward to your right to remove it.
-

Remove the black tie holding the two rear ribbon cables together by untwisting it.

Remove the first of two multipin cables connected to the Left-Side Motherboard (Green) by pulling vertically.

Remove the second of two multipin cables connected to the Left-Side Motherboard (Green) by pulling vertically.

Pull the two cables to the right to disentangle from the disc drive.

-
Remove the first of three ribbon cables on the left hand side of the disc drive by pulling vertically.

Remove the second of three ribbon cables on the left hand side of the disc drive by pulling vertically.

Remove the third of three ribbon cables on the left hand side of the disc drive by pulling vertically.

Remove the four .320 inch screws holding the motherboard to its casing.

Push the motherboard forward a few inches to detach it from the casing.

Lift the motherboard from the rear and pull backward (towards you) to remove it entirely from the case.
