This guide will outline how to replace the battery of your SwagTron T1 Hoverboard. This may be necessary if the battery is defective or worn out. Before attempting this replacement, recalibrate your hoverboard. If the issue persists, continue with this replacement.

Turn the SwagTron upside down to see the underside.
-
-
-
Unscrew the eighteen 10mm screws that secure the back panels using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.
-
Carefully lift the panels off
The panels don’t come off after removing the screws. Could they be also glued in place?
Same issue here with the T882. Resorted to trying to pry the shell off but haven’t been able to yet. The closer I get to the center, the harder it is.
FYI - there are stickers over two of the screws (one on each side). Once the stickers are removed, and the screws taken out, the shell came off easily.
THANK YOU! The screws were under the stickers near the center.
I removed all the screws from the panel, and I am pulling and tugging and I can only get one side loose but not the other. Anyone else experience this?

Follow the wires from the panels to the motherboard.
-
You may need to cut any zip ties that are holding the wires together.
-
There is one connection on the battery side and three on the other side that must be removed.
-
Your back panels are now completely removed.
Where can I buy the shell
Where can I buy the battery?

Your SwagTron should look like this once the back panels are removed.
-
The battery is located on the left side as shown.
-
-
-
Unscrew the four 10mm screws that secure the battery using a Philips #2 screwdriver.
Can anybody tell me please where I can find a replacement battery?
-
-
-
Disconnect the two wires that come from the battery from the wires coming from the hoverboard.
-
There are only two connections that need to be separated.
-
The battery should be completely removed from the hoverboard.

Is there a blue and black wire that gets connected also?
Where dI you get the battery.
Thanks.
I’m also wanting to know where you found the replacement battery. I’ve found several replacement battery packs for hover boards but none that match the T1. The T1 has a circuit board attached to the battery pack, fused…. where can I find this?
Yep, can’t find a T1 battery anywhere. Even Swagtron won’t tell me how to get one, short of sending it in for service.
Swagtron tech support offers to replace any battery if under warranty, which requires that you pay to ship the entire unit back to them for service. This seems insanely costly, but probably avoids voiding the warranty.
If you are out-of-warranty, they said they would sell me a battery, but did not offer any pricing info.
If you want to do-it-yourself, out-of-warranty: My guess it that the metal shielded “battery” actually contains commercially available LiIon cells which can be privately sourced, but may require some wire splicing, may be a shock hazard and such, so is more complex than just plug-in a replacement.
What type of replacement battery is used for the Swagtron T1?
Swagtron wont give me the information!!
Did anyone ever find out how to buy the battery for the swagtron T1?
So every couple of months I notice my daughters T1 sitting… dead…. in our garage and I think to myself: “Maybe now it’s possible to find a replacement battery for this fairly expensive gift that she enjoyed… after all… it’s a battery… you should be able to replace a BATTERY.”
Sadly every time I am less surprised but more annoyed to see that I cannot. In hind sight I should have known a company that picked such a stupid name at Swagatron would suck.
Thanks for nothing.
I too can’t find where to purchase a battery to replace this junk product that didn’t hold a charge long at all. They said I could send it in for $20, pay like $60 for service and another $20ish to replace the battery. In a chat I was told it takes a 12Volt -3.0AH lead acid battery, which doesn’t really help me much I don’t think. If anyone knows of a battery that works as a replacement, please share.
I have a T6. Same battery specs, same lack of info or help from Swagtron, and there doesn’t seem to be any useful reply here, so now we know how to take out a bad battery and put it back in. Seems we’re SOL.
I have a T6, but the battery model number is the same as what is shown here. Anyone found a suitable replacement yet? I really don’t want to pay to have to ship this unit back to Swagtron just for a battery replacement
For replacement battery go to swagtron.com/returns and use the chat feature. You’ll have to provide them a picture of your battery so they can pull the specs and order the correct replacement. $59.99 for battery (haven’t seen shipping cost yet). They will order, then send you an invoice, you pay using the link in the invoice, and then they ship within 3-5 business days.
Any guide available on how to open Swag T8?
Can you post a link where we can get a replacement battery and a charger for this T1 Swag Board?
Any luck finding these batteries? No luck with swatting but must be somewhere…
