-
-
Begin with the battery cover closed.
-
Remove 6 black Phillips 4 mm screws using the Ph000 head screwdriver tip from the bottom covering.
-
-
-
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully insert it between the camera cover and the bottom cover. Pull it apart.
-
The bottom covering is attached by a hinge. Removing this part will also require a small amount of force to separate.
If you do this you’ll break the plastic piece at the bottom right so unsted lift it just a bit 2mm and slide it like in step 4
-
-
-
Remove 1 black Phillps 4 mm screw using a Ph000 screwdriver tip from under battery cover.
-
-
-
-
Once the part is separated, move it toward the battery slot.
-
Push the piece towards the camera to separate it from the hinge.
-
-
-
Separate the back of the camera frame from the body by taking apart the bottom and the sides of the camera.
there is 2 more screws on each sides of the camera to remove before doing this
-
-
-
To remove the control wheel from its position, grab the bottom of the part and pivot to the side and away from the camera.
-
After the part is fully away from the camera, move the part downward and out. It should now be fully extended and able to bend at the band that is attached to the body.
-
-
-
With a plastic opening tool, lift the LCD screen from the camera body.
Depends on the replacement screen you did buy, you’ll have to remove the aluminuim case which is wrapping your lcd sreen, to place it on the new on (i recommande to use a guitar mediator to do it)
-
-
-
Set the LCD screen to the side
-
Grab the orange band holding the LCD screen and gently pull to detach from the camera body.
-

This worked a treat! Thank you!! Getting the new connector is in very fiddly and also watch where the extra strip goes when you remove it and try for the same on the new one. It sort of tucks back on itself.
Great step by step, thanks!
Question and I apologize if it sounds ignorant. The instructions are great, but don’t I need to purchase a new one and put it in?

Great Guide! Opened up the Father-in-laws camera the other day using your guide with zero issues, giving me a chance to remove the faulty part.
This was a double help, first it allowed me to try reassembling the camera before ordering anything for him; as it wouldn't be much use getting a part if I can't put the camera back to together at this point (and stop me from losing the tiny screws while the part ships from china), and secondly, having the faulty part in hand was useful for visual comparison when ordering a replacement part through ebay.
Thanks so much for this guide!
My husband was quoted £250 to repair his camera…..that we thought was under sony warranty. sony also said if he didnt want it repaired they wouls post it back or put it in the bin for just £56!!
We are feeling triumphant that he refused to pay either and i have now fixed it.
allocate lots of time and a clean work space……and i needed to be bold when handling the yellow strip……i didnt get it slotted far enough in the first try, and had the ‘folding in on itself’ to the side, rather than back underneeth the screen. I handled it more firmly on the second try.
Thanks
Where can you buy a complete WX350 LCD screen replacement.
Thank you so much. It was a great help.
Just a note: in my DSC-WX350, Step 2 is a little different from your instructions, impacting, a little bit, step 3 in removing the cover.
However, I coul solve, and my camera and LCD Screen, is working perfectly.
By the way: I bought my LCD screen, in AliExpress, and costed just US$ 15.

Brilliant guide thanks. Took less than half an hour to replace my LCD screen following these steps, (not forgetting the two extra screws to take out from each side of the plastic frame.) I also didn't push the connecting strip far enough in to the white connector on my first attempt but in less than 5 minutes, I had it apart again and pushed it firmly in to place. Now got a fully working camera again. I got the replacement screen from Amazon, (Tenlacum 1 Piece Camera Screen,LCD Display Panel for Sony DSC-WX150 / WX300 / H90) for only £15.61 including delivery. Despite the description, this part also fits a DSC-WX350.
Thanks very much.
