This guide goes through the procedure of replacing the lens in the Sony Cybershot DSC-P52.

Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.

Remove all of the visible screws on the outside of the case.

Open the memory card compartment.

Remove the screw next to the memory card slot.

-
Pull apart the front and back cover pieces carefully.

Simultaneously unclip all of the clips holding in the circuitry. Remove the back case.

-
Unclip the clip holding the ribbon cable in.
-
-
-
Remove the two additional screws on the back of the lens.
-
-
-
Detach the ribbon cables and unplug the cable leading to the back of the motherboard.
-
-
-
Remove the motherboard and the flash from the rest of the hardware.
-
-
-
Remove the screw indicated in the picture to detach the lens and the viewfinder from the other hardware.
-
-
-
Remove the three screws shown to separate the lens from the viewfinder.
-
-
-
Purchase a new viewfinder.
-
Repeat the previous steps in reverse order to rebuild.
