This repair may be necessary if the brush roll is not spinning. The belt is tight on the roll and may require some force to remove it.

Open the garage door by sliding both of the release buttons away from you.

Lift off the garage door.

Remove the plastic screw covering using a metal spudger by pushing the sharp side into the crevice and prying the cover out.

Turn the T10 Security Torx screwdriver counterclockwise to remove the 15mm screw.

Use the iFixit Opening Tool to pry the side of the vacuum open.

Remove the side component with your hands.

Remove old the belt from the two gears by prying it off using the metal spudger.

Repeat on the other side of the vacuum.

Wonderful directions and a great help, thanks. However one important factor was left out, the part number for the belts.
Where to get the carpet brush belt? What would the belt size be?
Add me to the rest. I also want a belt. Does anybody ever respond to these questions?
