Remove the Dust Cap Container then remove the 7.5mm screw (with the PH2 Bit) from the battery cover.

Using a black spudger pry open the cover, and remove the cover plate.

Once the battery cover is removed slide the battery mount upwards and pull it out.

Pull out the battery and then disconnect the battery at the quick disconnects.

Throw it away and buy new lithium Pet Perfect
I changed the battery, it still shuts off after 1 second
It has a 2 year warranty, mine quit working at 2 years 10 months. Pretty expensive for only 34 months.
Mine still working after 3 (three)years and it was $45 at the time from Walmart. Wouldn't be cheaper to buy an other whole unit than waste $45 plus tax, plus work just on the battery pack like Amazon's Banshee ( read EXTRATERRESTRIAL ) battery pack of $45 plus tax ???
