Unwind about 10" of thread. Cut and thread through the needle. Tie a double knot at the end of the thread.

Start the threaded needle on the upper side of the sandal.

Pull the thread through the ornament's opening.

Pull the thread down and through the sandal straps.

Repeat the process, catching the ornament in a variety of places to anchor several sides.

Pull the thread so that the ornament is tight against the sandal.

Run the needle back through the sandal strap, then tie a knot at the base of the thread.

Double the knot before using your scissors to cut the thread.

Cut the thread just above the knot.
