  1. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, Removing the shattered glass: crwdns2935265:01crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, Removing the shattered glass: crwdns2935265:01crwdnd2935265:02crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0
    • Be careful when removing the shattered glass. You want to make sure the pieces don't fall inside and get trapped next to the camera. You also want to make sure that the lens on the camera itself is not in need of replacement. To do that you would need to remove the back cover and fortunately, I did not have to do this to complete my repair.

  2. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, A Sticky Situation: crwdns2935265:02crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, A Sticky Situation: crwdns2935265:02crwdnd2935265:02crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0
    • After clearing all the glass, you will want to remove as much as the old glue as possible. A small set of tweezers like what you get with the iOpener set is perfect. I went ahead and used the iOpener to make the glue a little easier to pull right off.

  3. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, Sticking the Landing: crwdns2935265:03crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Camera Lens Glass Replacement, Sticking the Landing: crwdns2935265:03crwdnd2935265:02crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0
    • You'll want to make sure when you purchase your replacement glass that you get a new piece of glue tape to secure the glass. No matter how careful you are the old glue will not be sticky enough or lay flat enough for your new glass to stay securely flush with the camera dome.

    • I chose to keep the center section in when applying the glue tape. This was to prevent the tape from accidentally getting stuck to the camera. I could have instead removed the circle before placing the tape down and this would have prevented me from having to awkwardly pry it out afterward. Pick your own battle...

    • Next carefully remove the protective plastic from BOTH sides of your replacement glass. It's easy to forget the backside. I almost stuck the plastic to my phone. Doing so would have let my new glass come right off.

    • After peeling the plastic off, gently grip the glass with the tweezers or small suction gripping tool and place inside the camera dome. Firmly press into place making sure the edge is flush if not slightly lower than the edge of the dome.

    • I wiped my glass clean and let the warm iOpener sit on top to warm the glue. I have no idea if this resulted in a firmer grip after cooling, but it seemed to have made the glass more level.

    • So comes the end of my first phone repair and thus this tutorial. I hope I made someone a little less trepidatious about doing this repair themselves!

Hello, Will This Camera Glass Fit The 6 Edge Plus As Well?

bobbywash - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

I think they have the exact same camera. See:

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idP...

Im going to buy it and try it myself. I'm sure if you wanted to replace the entire camera, you'd have to get one made for that phone, but this is just the lens, so I'm sure they're the same size and dimensions.

Murat Ozdemir - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

As far as I know it will. The glass itself was very inexpensive and if you order it, you will be able to verify the size before you attempt the replacement. As most you'll be out a few bucks.

Was your camera blurry when it was damaged as mines smashed and camera works but won't focus.. any help anyone please?

Chris - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Did you ever get a reply to this? I am having the same issue

Kevin Hauschulz -

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

My camera was a little blurry, but I found out that was due to being dirty and some condensation.

Before I replaced the back camera lens I cut a small corner off of my lens cleaner cloth for my glasses. I used a pair of tweezers and the same cleaning solution to clean the camera lens. If you think the camera needs repaired, you could replace that at the same time. It would go beyond the scope of my guide but I did see the part was available for purchase.

where did you get the replacement glass, all i can find if the whole camera set up

Orlando Loya - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Ok here is the problem, i have dust under the glass, can i heat it up and remove only the glass and then stick it back in? there is only one glass part ? there isnt another one from the inside of the frame?

Branislav Stratrov - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Yes, you can heat it up and remove it... The problem would be getting it to stay once you get it cleaned out and try to stick it back.

The "second" piece of glass is the camera itself.

Where do you get the right size tape ring?

Dacia Pennington - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

One comes with the piece of glass here.

This is the one I used.

Perfect. Thanks!

It's the same process to replace on the regular s6?

Jose Pilero - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

hello sir

my name is binay rai and i have same problem i have cracked my glass but while capturing photos i have dark particles? may i know what that is? amd how to remove it? please

Naruto Xbinay - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

It is condensation in the camera causing the spots. You will need to remove the back cover and replace the camera to get rid of them.

Kurtis Rutt -

What is the best way to protect my now exposed camera while i wait for the replacement lens glass?

Bobby Ward - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Put a piece of tape over the hole until your glass arrives. It may be good to tape a thin piece of cardboard over it.

Kurtis Rutt -

If my camera view has a bunch of purple/black spots on it and a bit blurry, then I probably need a whole new camera huh?

Manuel Ramirez - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Yes, it is condensation in the camera causing the spots. You will need to remove the back cover and replace the camera to get rid of them.

Kurtis Rutt -

how do I determine whether or not I need just the glass replacement or a whole new Camera replacement.. I smashed the glass heavily on something and when I open the camera app It still works just won't focus? is replacing the glass help it focus or what?

Bobby fresh - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Try removing the glass and once you’re sure all the glass pieces are out, open the camera app and see if it focuses. If it has spots or defects, you may also need to replace the camera.
