If you're wondering why your Royal P50 electric pencil sharpener seems to not be sharpening your pencils anymore, then these simple steps should be all you need to solve that problem.
The blade is responsible for the sharpening of your pencils. A damaged or worn out blade will result in a poor sharpening job, but a sharpened pencil nonetheless. This is important to note as anything besides this is likely due to a problem separate from the sharpener, which this guide will not cover.
Trying things such as using several different pencils, checking for a shavings buildup, or using a different outlet could help eliminate the chances of replacing a perfectly good blade.
Before beginning, be sure the sharpener is completely unplugged and powered down to ensure no unfortunate accidents from happening.

-
Turn your pencil sharpener over so the bottom is facing up.
-
Use a spudger to remove the rubber screw covers.
-
Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom of the device.
-
-
-
Take off the white cover by sliding it up along the mechanism. This should reveal both the blade mechanism as well as some wiring in the back.
-
-
-
Using your hands and a little bit of force, pry off the black disk-like component that can be seen highlighted here.
-
-
-
-
Take note of the metal rod that is now exposed and directly connected to the blade; this is what we want to remove.
-
Underneath the blades you will see a rectangular opening and a portion of that same rod there as well.
-
-
-
Using the same screwdriver you have been using, push that rod upwards by lodging the screwdriver beneath the metal plate, where the rod rests.
-
There should now be a large metallic rod sticking out of the top of the blade.
-
-
-
Finally, remove the rod and the blade should come right out.
-
Inserting the replacement blades should be done the same way as the process of removal but this time in reverse.
-
Once the blade has been secured, place and screw everything back into it's respective location.
-
And you're done!
-
-
-
Your pencil sharpener should work as good as new now!
-
Happy sharpening!
