Gently pry the speaker grill from the radio, using a spudger if needed.

Unscrew the 11 Phillips screws on the rear panel, taking note of the varying sizes of screws.

Inspect the solder joints that join the coaxial cable to the antenna. If the coaxial cable solder joints are loose, frayed, or snapped, re-soldering is required.

If the solder joints are damaged, desolder the coaxial cable from the antenna base.

Carefully solder the antenna signal element to the small wire in the core of the coaxial cable. Ensure the core wire can not touch any other electrical connections.

Gently arrange the coaxial cable so that the outer shielding of the coaxial cable can be soldered to the ground of the antenna. Check that the solder joint is sturdy.
