Very often problem with this model. In 60% it can be resolved only with reconnecting the Touchscreen flex / ribbon cable.
If this solution not helped you then you must to change your Touchscreen.

Because I can't switch-off the tablet, I'm using the reset button to do this.

They seem to have become aware of the problem at some point. My B1-A71 which was sent in for warranty a couple times has an additional green rubber square kind of thing holding the clip in tight, I notice your pictures don't have this.

If you have a memory card inside, remove it. If you have same problem again, you have a problem with Android OS or a hardware problem.

It didn't work... I tried rebooting, restarting and taking out the flex cable and putting it back in. Any more suggestions?
