Remove the Ni-Cad battery from the PowerBook 180.

Slide the arrows toward the front of the computer until the battery can slide out.

Removing the screws securing the bottom plate from the PowerBook 180.

There are 5 Torx T8 screws, 4 of which are located on the bottom and 1 on the back above the modem port.

Your computer should look like the two pictures after the bottom plate is removed.

Locate the modem board, which is next to the DC-in port.

There are two Torx T8 screws marked in red in the pictures. Remove these screws and pull up on the modem board to remove.
