Philips Hue lightbulb Bulb Replacement

Philips Hue light bulbs are expensive ($30-70). The glass bulb is really thin and can be easily broken, resulting in an annoying aggressive light.

On the other hand, Ikea recently released budget & strong light bulbs ($6.99 for two). This guide will show you how to dismount an Ikea light bulb and how to use its bulb to fix a broken Philips Hue bulb with low budget.

Start by carefully removing the remaining broken glass parts from the Philips Hue lightbulb. On this example, glass parts have already been removed.

Then use your Groove Joint Pliers to gently crush and remove the screw thread contact of the IKEA lightbulb.

Once removed, you'll be able to extract the LED controller using your fingers. You might have to use a pliers again.

The bulb is sealed by the plastic & metallic body.

Firmly use Cutting Pliers to cut and remove the body. You will only need to break the plastic layer in order to free the bulb.

Put glue on both the Ikea bulb and the Philips light bulb.

Wait a few minutes before pressing firmly against each other.

Congratulations ! You just fixed a $60 light bulb for less than $4 !
