Insert an opening tool in the gap between the rear and front case.

Pry around the perimeter until the front case releases.

Remove the front case.

Firmly grasp the joystick cover and pull it straight up and off of the controller.

Align the new joystick with the controller's socket; press down until it clicks into place.
