Use the plastic opening tool on one of the corners to separate the bottom piece from the speaker, and then remove the piece.
I bought this 6 months ago, it works pluged into power source, but once unpluged will not work. Even being left on charger over night.
Also i pluged it in the red light is on but glows dim then bright. Is this normal?
I bought it off Amazon brand new
I cannot believe I am unable to find one video to show how to properly open up the speaker to fix the female port.
I WAS VERY HAPPY with my speakers untill the ports malfunctioned a year after purchased. No warranty and NO illustrations ABOUT opening the housing without damages using PLASTIC TOOLS AS RECOMMENDED .
So now I have great speakers that are now disposable since I cannot open the %#*@ housing.
Great product until it is charged ONE too many times.
Cant replace drivers if you cant buy replacement drivers!

-
Remove the battery from the inside compartment for replacement.
Don’t break the solder - cut the wires by the old battery and connect wires from the new battery to the wires still connected to the motherboard.
good point scott
just did exactly this. Make sure to reuse the protected circuitry off the previous battery or use a protected battery.
The speaker cost 25 bucks why would you pay 30.00 for a battery?

What is the kind of battery used? Thanks!
Hi Rodrigo, the Oontz Angle 3 uses a rechargeable 2200mAh lithium-ion battery. Happy Fixing!
can i upgrade it to 4300mah?
the one that I have has a "circuit board" attached to the battery. Is this what controls the recharging? If so, where do you get the battery with these?
Hi Rob,use soldering iron disconnect the circuit board which come with old battery you going to replace, and soldering iron the disconnected circuit board back onto your new battery. The so called circuit board is to protect the battery from over discharge or over charge. Hope this help.
2200mAh lithium-ion battery...... is it the 3.7?
Do you know the watt hour rating for this battery?
If you don't know the watt hour rating, can you tell me whether this battery is 2200 mAh and 3.7v?
One can also replace the battery with what looks like a 18650 lithium-ion sized battery; they range in size from a minimum from 2,200mah to 3,400mah; so technically one could also upgrade the lithium-ion sized battery up to the maximum 3,400mah size and thus upgrade oneself from 10 hours continuous play to 15 hours of continuous when one uses the 3,400mah sized lithium-ion battery instead of the 2,200mah lithium-ion battery.
can i use 4300mah lithium ion battery?
Hi! Can i use 3.7 volts rechargeable battery for this?
Trying to change a battery on a oontz xl,,,How do i open it for repair!?
Trying to change a battery on a oontz xl, how do i open it for the battery swap. Thank you!!
the 1st diode ( there’s two ( 8205a )) on the negative side of battery , on mine , quit working. No power, No charge…. The battery still has 3.36 volts . It was great why’ll it lasted. Only 1 year old.
Is it going to fit another battery (2 in parallel) to increase capacity?
Mine works as long as its pluged in to an out let. I unplug it even after charging all night and still no charge and wont work. I have had this maybe 3 months i bought it off of amazon brand new. I love the sound it put out and the loud volume. But the battery im very disapointed if that is the issue. I also noticed that as it is pluged in the light goes bright to dim in a repeated pattern is that normal?
Can I use 18650?
Can you tell me,where i can buy a battery?
Love the sound on my Angle 3 plus but now not able to take a charge. Purchased it in april of 2017 and have only had to charge 1 x that is how little I have used it. Now will not charge. The battery itself is quite expensive considering I only purchased the speaker for 25.00 new. And then to have to solder some pieces when replacing the battery - is expensive considering the original cost is just not cost effective. Wish the batteries lasted long. Why didnt they just build the unit with a 3,400mah size battery. disappointed
Hi, so my oontz ultra 3 battery died after a year could I replace it with https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=...
Do you have the battery number?
Do you have the battery number
Mines just shows a white light when plugged up I’m not sure what the problem could be! When unplugged it does nothing at all
Recently replaced the battery in my OontZ Angle 3...you can use up to a 4400 mAh battery....with 3.7v. Can find all kinds of battery variations on Amazon. Follow the above directions....it's an easy fix and you DON'T need to solder your connections...cut plenty of wire & twist it up & use shrink tube over the connection...then charge it fully before using. Works like new and runs many many many hours!
I used this battery because it was cheap: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJVRZGML?psc...
does it matter if I get button top battery?
I found 6 screws in the base, 2 are under rubber plugs. You need to remove ALL 6 to open the speaker.
What voltage is the battery replacement for Oontz Angle 3?
Where do I buy the OontZ Angle 3 Motherboard?
