Insert the plastic opening tool into the seam of the device.

Squeeze the top battery using a tweezer and pull the battery away from the light bulb.

There is another Inova flashlight design that involves removing two Phillips type screw heads that are VERY TINY. I am able to unscrew one, but not the other, so am stuck and unable to replace the batteries.
