      • Carefully disconnect the LCD screen ribbon cable from the PCB.

      • Handle with care!

      • Carefully remove the PCB from the front shell.

      • Lifting at a slight angle will help clear the headphone jack on the bottom more easily. During reassembly, seat the headphone jack on the bottom of the PCB into the shell first.

      • When reassembling, ensure both the power button and the power switch on the PCB are set to the OFF position. Misalignment can permanently damage the PCB.

      • The rubber retainer may stick to the PCB during removal. Because it is small, it can easily be overlooked or lost. Double-check that you have it before moving on.

      • For reassembly, slot the rubber retainer onto the two positive features at the bottom of the shell. The front face of the rubber retainer should sit flat against the bottom of the front shell before inserting the PCB.

      • Remove the rubber button membranes (x3) from their pockets.

      • Remove the buttons and the D-pad from the shell with tweezers or by hand. If you flip the shell over, they will fall out freely.

      • When reattaching the rubber button membranes, ensure that the positive features on the membranes are seated securely into the pockets on the shell.

      • Carefully separate the IR window by firmly pulling it away from the front shell.

      • For reassembly, check the orientation to make sure the side with the front lip goes in first.

      • Press in firmly until the IR window is seated securely.

      • If the IR window fits loosely, the orientation is incorrect. The fit should be snug.
