Did anyone do this get a battery and have any luck. I just took mine apart and wondering if it is worth $30 for a battery

    p_a_mckenzie - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Yes, I did this and it worked perfectly fine. The hard part is finding the right battery.

    Kyle Vest - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Found the battery on ebay for $20. 1ICP6/18/24 is the part to search for

    CottonDoux - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Hi, thank you, manuel worked! However, do you have any hint how to best glue the metal plate from the first step? While removing it has been bent a bid. Thank you.

    Midman - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

When I opened mine up, the black ribbon cable has split in two, which I guess was my problem in addition to/instead of the battery. Everything else looks fine but where would I even start to fix that? Is a part possible? Any help would be muchly appreciated.

I Want Fix IT - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

The only place i found was ebay:

ftlay - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Batteries can be found on ebay. I was surprised to see the band come back to life. I found the “pop” connector difficult to align properly. Almost lost patience with it. Got it on, reassembled and it powered up.

Dwight Gaut - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Mine will power on but only while its charging. After I take it off the charging cradle it immediately powers off. Do you think the battery replacement will solve this problem? Thanks in advance for any input!

Ashrocque - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Brilliant, my band is out of warranty and I could not get the battery charging problem fixed. Purchased a new battery on E-Bay, fitted it using the instructions and the band now works.

Thanks for the post and showing me how to fix the Band.

I bought the iFixIt tool kit for this repair, and I was able to do the battery replacement for my Band 2 per the instructions (thank you iFixIt!). But unfortunately my Band 2 still wouldn’t charge, I just continue to get that “empty battery” icon for hours on end (and one teeny-tiny blue pixel blinks at the bottom left corner of the display).

I use the same wall charger to successfully charge my Bluetooth headsets every day, so I know the USB power supply/wall charger I’m using is good. But after checking all pin combinations of the five pins on the cradle end of my Band 2 charging cable, all five pins are 0 (zero) VDC. I even got two small but strong magnets and placed them on the cradle, in case it requires the magnetic coupling to enable the 5 VDC to get through to the pins, but still no voltage at any of the five pins on the cradle. Does anyone know if it is or is not the case that the Band 2 charging cradle does not energize any pins unless the watch is docked?

I have exactly the same result.

madcap -

Raymond Bishop You might have destroyed your watch/battery if you did not ground yourself or wash your hand properly and dawn gloves…

Daniel Hamilton - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

After I destroyed one Band trying to fix it I bought another one on ebay. 2 Weeks in and now it does not load… I thought the battery was dead and tried replacing it. Sadly it does not seem to have worked since the problem still shows and I somehow would guess that the “black ribbon cable“ is partly to blame since I have no clue how to line it up properly. The Band part does not seem to have any obvious breakage…

Anyone any ideas left? *desperate*
