If your Logitech G X56 HOTAS Joystick (model 945-000058) no longer reacts to input from the Thumb HATs (the Witch Hat and Castle Hat), use this guide to replace the faulty HATs.
The Witch Hat and Castle Hat are multi-directional thumb controls located on the joystick. Simulation games use them for view panning, radar control, and menu navigation. Faulty HAT switches can cause stuck directions, random inputs, or a lack of response during the simulation.
Check both switches individually and verify the problem persists across different USB ports or devices.
Before beginning, make sure to disconnect the joystick from all power and USB connections.
