Power off your computer before you begin.

Find and remove the 10 Phillips style body screws on the bottom of the laptop case.

Remove 2 screws, 1 located on the left hinge cover and one located on the right hinge cover.

Starting from the front, use a plastic opening tool to separate the bottom of the case from the body of the laptop.

Unplug the hard drive from the 22-pin cable (LZ9 HDD cable).

Using the plastic opening tool, lift the hard drive from its compartment.

1. Of the first 10 screws, you did not mention that 2 of them are longer.
2. You can't lift the hard drive out without removing 4 screws (one at each corner of the drive). The plastic tool is not needed for this.
