Remove the 7 mm Phillips screw from the back of the laptop which holds the optical drive in place.

Carefully pull the optical drive out from the laptop.

Remove the twelve 7 mm Phillips screw from the back of the device.

Use opening picks or a plastic pry tool to remove the cover on all sides then lift.

Detach the battery connector from the socket on the motherboard.

Pull the hard drive case out to remove it.

Remove the hard drive from the hard drive case.
