Keyboards often need to be replaced due to broken keys, mechanical failures, or wiring failures. This guide demonstrates how to replace the keyboard in three easy steps that should take 3-5 minutes. The only tool required is a prying tool.

Place the laptop so the bottom is facing up.

Remove the two M2.5x4 screws connecting the removable plate to the frame of the computer using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Using both hands, slide the plate off of the back of the laptop.

Remove the three screws holding the keyboard to the laptop.

Open the lid of the laptop and locate the keyboard.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the corner of the laptop between the keyboard and the side of the laptop.

Slide the plastic opening tool across the keyboard towards the other corner.

Grab the keyboard at the corners and pull the keyboard off the laptop.
