    • Wash one garment at a time in a standard-sized washing machine.

    • Set the water temperature to "Warm" (80–90 °F or 30–32 °C).

    • Set the final spin cycle to "Low" or "Short".

    • The garment must be soaking wet when transferred from the washing machine to the dryer.

    • Set dryer temperature to "Low" or "Warm" - Do not use "High"

    • Set dryer time to at least 45 minutes

    • Tumble drying is the most important step in reducing shedding. Air or hang drying will not reduce shedding.

    • Clean the lint trap of the dryer and dispose of lint in trash.

    • If your garment is still shedding fibers, repeat this process from the start, beginning with the wash cycle.

    • Testing has shown that minimal to no fiber shedding occurs in the washing step. The potential for microfibers to enter our waterways is very low. Most of the fibers are removed in the drying step and are captured in the lint trap.
