If your Kodak EasyShare (model M2008) is having issues with the battery door not closing securely, appears damaged or broken then use this guide replace the battery door. The battery door ensures that the battery is making contact to turn the camera on and off. A battery door that is broken or damaged will impact the camera turning on as well as causing the camera to loose power suddenly. Before reading this guide further, inspect the battery door for cracks/bends in the battery door, examine the quality of the latch and look to see if there is a build up of corrosion as all of these factors can inhibit the ability of the door to shut. Ensure that these are the causes of the issues with the camera and that is not coming from another area of the camera. Step 3 mentions the removal of six screws make sure that these are not lost as they are needed to reattach the device casing.

Place thumb firmly on batter cover.

Slide thumb right, the cover should follow and pop up.

Place thumb on orange tab and pull back towards screen.

The battery should pop up.

Gently lift battery out.

Remove screws from along outer edge of casing.

There are 6 screws in total.

Gently lift off front and back casing.

Open the battery door.

Identify the retaining pin.

Push retaining pin out with small tweezers. Pushing the pin out halfway.

Having the pin out halfway.

Shut the door to ensure that no loose parts get lost.

Next pull out the remaining length of the pin.
