A sofa storage compartment is opened and closed often so it’s no surprise that the hinges become loose over time. Most of the time it starts with a loose screw, frequent re-tightening of the screws will cause the screw hole to tear open and the screws no longer fit tightly, resulting in loose hinges.
With loose hinges the compartment cover does not close the way it should. This is very easy to fix. The trick is to fill the worn-out screw holes with something that is wood and small enough to fill the hole, like matches sticks. Wood glue is also an important element, as it helps to seal the sticks inside the hole.
This guide will instruct users how to fill the worn-out screw hole and replace the hinges.
