Remove the direction selector dial by turning it counterclockwise with a T15 screwdriver.

Lift up on the direction selector dial to remove it.

Lift up on the heart spring to remove it.

Remove the pawl and anvil by sliding them out of the ratchet handle.

Clean all the old grease and dirt off the parts with a rag.

Lubricate the pawl and the teeth in the head of the ratchet handle with a light coat of multi-purpose grease.
