When leather cracks, it is the result of microscopic changes in the material; leather is made of countless, tiny interwoven fibers packed tightly together, with denser connected fibers near the surface. Eventually, these fibers can dry out, weakening the fibers and resulting in chafing, cracking, and a worn appearance.
To help prevent future damage, regularly apply leather conditioner and keep your leather seats out of direct sunlight as much as possible.

Clean the damaged leather using soap or leather cleaner, then remove any dirt or debris with a cloth or a sponge.

Wait overnight until the area is completely dry.

Smooth the cracks with a piece of super-fine sandpaper, applying gentle pressure as you sand. Stop when you achieve a smooth, finish look.

Spread the leather filler over the cracks with a palette knife.

Brush in the paste to fill the cracks. Apply more filler as needed until the crack is filled.
