Flip your jeans inside out.

Use pins or chalk to mark where you want to cut the inseams of the jeans you want to modify.

Start cutting alongside the inseam you chose.

Use a measuring tape to measure from the bottom of the pant leg to where you want to cut.

Measure the bottom width, double it, and then add two or three inches more.

Use fabric chalk to mark a triangle the length and size of the area you are adding to your jeans

Use sewing scissors to cut along the triangle of your donor jeans or denim fabric.

Pin the corners of the denim piece onto the other pant leg to make sure that both sides are the same size.

Pin the pieces you just cut onto the inseams with pins.
