Lift the handle to open the top of the brewer.

There are two sharp needles that puncture the K-Cup pack. One is above the K-Cup holder and the other is in the bottom of the holder. Be careful when cleaning the top needle.

Bend a paperclip to create a vertical metal piece. This is used to clean the top needle.

Insert a paper clip into the exit needle to loosen the debris and push it out.

Repeat this action until the debris is cleared from the top needle.
