First, grab the book you would like to fix.
-
-
-
Then, open the book to where you have the most access to the exposed inner spine.
-
-
-
-
Shake up the glue before removing the cap.
-
Then, test glue on a piece of paper before placing it on the spine of the book. It should be about the consistency of Elmer's glue.
-
-
-
Place the glue along the spine opposite of the cover. Make sure you are distributing glue evenly.
-
You may also choose to use a paint brush to make sure area is completely covered with glue.
-
-
-
After placing the glue, wrap the cover tightly around the book.
-
Firmly drag your fingers down the spine of the book to avoid any air pockets.
-
Remove any excess glue with a tissue.
-
For the demonstration we held the book as shown. You may also choose to place something on top of the book, such as a paperweight or another book, and let it sit for 30 to 40 minutes.
-
-
-
After the glue is dry, you should be able to lightly tug on the pages without any movement.
-
If movement occurs then allow the glue an additional 10 to 15 minutes to dry. Once dry, you've completed your book repair.
