    • Turn the computer upright and lift the screen.

    • Carefully use a spudger to pry the plastic keyboard cover from the base.

    • When using the metal spudger, be careful not to press into the components underneath the keyboard cover. If possible, use a standard spudger or plastic opening tool to remove the keyboard cover.

    • Work the spudger around the cover to release the clips attaching the cover to the base.

    • Be patient when removing the cover, as there are many clips and it may take some time.

This repair is disingenuous and misleading. The computer used in these photos was previously worked on. All of the pictures and instructions in Step 4 and Step 5 prove this. In those pictures the keyboard is a physically separate piece from the plastic top case. This is NOT how this computer is assembled. In fact the keyboard is plastic welded to the top case. The top case does not separate from the keyboard as seen in Step 4 and Step 5. You need to fully remove the top case (which contains the keyboard and trackpad), disconnect three cables, remove a large copper support and a small black plastic support, peel off a big sheet of plastic and graphite insulation tape, then cut about 25 plastic welds that hold the keyboard support to the top case. Only then you can separate the keyboard from the top case.
