The battery supplies power to the laptop, so it is essential for the battery to be in good condition for optimal performance.
Make sure you are grounded before starting. To ground yourself, simply touch a metal object that is in contact with the floor for a few seconds.

Does anyone know where to find a replacement, or if you can fit the version 1 of this computer with a larger capacity battery from version 2?
Over at https://www.mysn.de/detail.asp?bestellnr... (don't mind their stock picture), they still sell the battery for the C404 (which is identical to the P34G v2). I just bought a new 61.25 Wh GNC-J40, manufactured in 2016/07.
Will it run without the battery or is it a required part of the circuit? I have a P35G V2 and I only use it plugged in anyway.
The battery in my P34G v2 is pretty solidly stuck to the chassis. I don't really want to pull on it too hard but is this normal?
@jens_lipponer Yes it runs without the battery fine. I have my battery disconnected as it is really swolen and the laptop boots without a problem.
