    • The vertical alignment can be adjusted without disassembling the camera top cover. However, the same adjustment can be performed with the top cover off or the RF assembly extracted.

    • Remove the adjustment screw cover by rotating it with a lens wrench or custom tool. Note that uses a bayonet mount with no threads, so at most 90˚ rotation is needed.

    • Adjust the vertical alignment as needed. The same adjustment screw is used when adjusting in a more disassembled state.

  2. GOMZ Leningrad Rangefinder Adjustment, Coarse adjustment of the horizontal alignment at infinity: crwdns2935265:02crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:01crwdne2935265:0
    • This step is only necessary if the rangefinder is significantly off horizontally.

    • Remove the RF assembly following the Leningrad disassembly guide.

    • Screw the eyepiece (blue box) back into the RF assembly for viewing during the adjustment.

    • Loosen the screw circled in green. Carefully shift the arm secured by the screw to adjust the mirror position. Caution: the adjustment is very sensitive.

    • Tighten the screw, temporarily put back the rangefinder assembly into the body. Confirm the rangefinder patch is in the correct ballpark with a lens.

  3. GOMZ Leningrad Rangefinder Adjustment, Fine adjustment of the horizontal alignment at infinity: crwdns2935265:03crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0 GOMZ Leningrad Rangefinder Adjustment, Fine adjustment of the horizontal alignment at infinity: crwdns2935265:03crwdnd2935265:02crwdnd2935265:02crwdne2935265:0
    • Remove the horizontal adjustment cover screw (circled in red).

    • Mount a lens on the camera and focus to infinity. The rangefinder coupling on the lens should be calibrated.

    • Choose an object far away. With a 1mm flathead screwdriver, turn the adjustment screw so that the object is in focus on the rangefinder.

    • The location of the adjustment screw and its relative position to the cover opening is marked by the red box.

  4. GOMZ Leningrad Rangefinder Adjustment, Adjusting horizontal alignment at minimum focus distance: crwdns2935265:04crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:01crwdne2935265:0
    • Place an object 1 meter away from the rangefinder.

    • Focus the lens to 1 meter mark.

    • Based on the observation, detach the lens and adjust the rangefinder cam angle (green arrow) so that the object is in focus.

    • Repeat the previous steps until horizontal adjustment is correct at both infinity and minimum focus distance.
