This guide will give step by step instructions on how to replace the light bulb in an oven, specifically for the GE TrueTemp, however these steps can be used for various other models. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for safety purposes.

Open the oven door and locate the oven light placement (located on the back wall, in upper left corner for this specific model.)

Locate the metal strap holding the glass cover over the bulb.

Slide the strap to the side to free the glass casing.

View the light bulb without the glass case and ensure there is nothing else securing it to the oven.

Check to make sure there is no debris around the bulb and that the light bulb is ready to be removed.

Using a dry cloth or gloves, unscrew the light bulb by turning it in a counter clockwise motion.

Screw in new light bulb in the clock wise direction.

Replace the glass cover over the bulb, but be sure to hold on to it tightly.

Secure the glass case to the oven with the metal strap by sliding it back over case until it fits tightly.

Plug the oven power cord back into power source.

Press the button for oven light to come on.
