    • Grab the eyepiece right above the MADE IN JAPAN text, close to where it meets the viewfinder, and rotate it counter-clockwise till it comes loose. It should be less than a quarter turn. Once it is loose it can be easily pulled away

    • Use a 2.5mm Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws labeled P1 through P4

  3. Disassembling Canon L2 Viewfinder, Removing Top of Shell: crwdns2935265:03crwdnd2935265:01crwdnd2935265:01crwdne2935265:0
    • The top shell can now just be pulled off, though the 2 plastic clips indicated by the red and orange arrows do provide some resistance, a flathead screwdriver or spudger of any kind can be used to pull them apart.

    • The connector in the green circle is the cable that goes back into the camcorder body. The board and vacuum tube lift straight out, though the blue and yellow cable goes through a hole in it. To fully remove it, the connector must be removed and threaded through.
